We are 3 weeks in to this life long journey as parents, and all in all things are going well.  My wife tells the story of her birthing experience and joys of being a mother.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, was a man with a great vision.  He refused to allow the terrors of the world to stop him. His will to stand up for what he believed in is something that will be admired forever.  

OUT OF THIS WORLD.

I am currently reading Unfashionable by: Tullian Tchividjian, and less than 50 pages in I am already making the recommendation. He pounds at the fact how we as Christians are called to be set apart, and not blend in with the rest of the world. How if we want to make a difference in this world we must be different from this world. Here's an excerpt from chapter 1 that I can personally testify too.

"My newfound freedom had me chasing the things of this world harder than most others my age. I sought acceptance, affection, meaning, and respect behind every worldly tree and under every worldly rock. The siren song of our culture promised me that by pursuing the right people, places, and things, I'd find the belonging I craved. If I could look, act, and talk a certain way, my deep itch to fit in would finally get scratched.
But it didn't work out that way. The more I pursued those things, the more lost I felt. The more I drank from the well of worldly acceptance, the thirstier I became; the faster I ran toward godless pleasure, the farther I felt from true fulfillment; the more I pursued freedom, the more enslaved I became. At twenty-one I found myself hungering for belonging more than ever.
The world hadn't satisfied me the way it had promised, the way I'd anticipated. The world's message and methods had, in fact, hung me out to dry. I felt betrayed. Lied to. I desperately needed to be rescued by something--or Someone--out of this world."

Shout out to my little brother in Christ Tris Be for using his musical talents to exalt the King.  The Lord guided him and his family to Bahrain, where they have been living and serving for years.  I encourage you brother to continue to seek the Lord, allow your light to shine so that they may sing praises unto Him.  I pray that HE will expand your territory and give you a voice in places where they may not know of Him. I was surfing the web the other day, doing my daily blog rounds and what not when I discovered this Benny Gold x Dearly Departed promo video:

...The music absolutely blew me away. It made a video with random images, look like the beautiful piece of art. I jumped on google and began a search party to locate the artists behind this masterpiece. Thanks to a comment on vimeo, I discovered that Little Dragon were the ones I have been looking for. Never heard of them. Why isn't this group more popular? I actually see the blessing in staying small, in a sense it keeps you humble and true to what you represent. Did some research on the Swedish band, sampled more of their electronic music(over & over again), and watched bundle of their artistic videos(over & over again). With no hesitation grabbed both albums and have been in a daze ever since. Just like that Little Dragon has climbed my musician charts, securing a solid spot at the top.

GOING IN CIRCLES

Shout out to my good friend from Holland, Stunner Fleming.  Stunner is an aspiring r&b artist, whose Caribbean vocals brings spice to the European market.  I have had the pleasure to witness the creative process behind his debut single.  From writing to releasing, it has been an intense course of action, but he did it and we are so happy for him.

 

SUNDAY SNOW!

Definitely did not see this coming.  After a bright and sunny Saturday, the weather took an unexpected turn.  A good friend of mine told me that we have to smile at the storm...so I am cheesing from ear to ear.

A PRINCESS IS BORN!

On December 30th, 2010, my wife and I welcomed baby Sarai Ruth Spencer into the world.  All I can say is THANK YOU JESUS! Your sacrifice and obedience made it possible for us to experience this moment.  You gave your life so that we could help create a life.
Sarai, hebrew origin meaning MY PRINCESS, was the name that was put in my wives spirit months prior to conception.  Sarai (later changed to Sarah) was the beautiful wife of the prophet Abram (later changed to Abraham). Abram was a very blessed man (Gen. 12:2-3) and Sarai was considered barren, which hindered her from child bearing. Doctors gave my wife a similar report. Stating that it would be difficult if not impossible for a child to survive in her womb.  Well advanced in her age, Sarai was blessed by God and was given a child. She became the mother of nations, kings of people came from her (Gen 17:16). And on December 30th, exactly 3 years and 364 days since the beginning of 'us', a beautiful child is born. "Is anything too hard for the Lord?"
Sarai was born at 5:08pm, weighing 5lbs, 9oz, &17 1/2in long....she is a week old today and doctors are blown away by her rapid growth. She is extremely alert with a personality that will have you in tears.  I was surprised we were able to get her out of the hospital, for all the nurses went gaga over Baby Ruth.  They had that "I want to take you baby home" look in their eyes.
Wow! I am still blown away! What a way to end a year and start a new. We want to thank our family and friends for their thoughts, visits, gifts, and most importantly prayers. We love you greatly.
