Taking matters into your own hands.

1987-2010

Commemorating the life of Denver Broncos wide receiver, Kenny McKinley #11. I didn't know of this young man, and never had the pleasure of catching him in action on a Sunday or Monday night. When I was notified of his passing, my heart dropped when I read the word suicide. I am still very sensitive to that word, for a good friend of mine went down that road earlier this year. I later found out, that Kenny is the nephew of a close family friend. Making the choice to take matters into your own hands, is decision that is 100% orchestrated by the adversary. There has been talk of possible foul play involved, if so I pray that it gets brought to light. I hope that we gain strength in our trials, and that we cleave to the ever so loving God whom will comfort us in times we feel abandoned. My heart and prayers go out to the soul of Kenny Mckinley, his family, friends, and teammates.

everything can change in a New York minute.

I came across the USA TODAY and TIME magazine spreads that were released after the towers dropped back in '01. As I began to browse through the images my heart then dropped as if it had just occurred. Although it's been 9 years, I can only imagine how fresh the wounds feel for not only the families whom lost loved ones, but also to every New Yorker. Strolling through ground zero is a constant reminder of a devastating crisis. My heart and prayers go out to all.

Russell Athletic Commercial... Lights, Camera, Action!

In the month of June, I was offered a position to be a commercial extra. The commercial was for notable brand Russell Athletic. The brand and director wanted to showcase their apparel in an intense performance setting, so they sought out to get real athletes over actors. All the guys along side of me were professional and semi-pro ball players. The entire commercial took about 2 days to shoot. The basketball piece, which I was featured in, took roughly 6 hours to film. Out of that 6 hours, not even 6 seconds made the final cut. It's a lot that goes into the film process, the Mrs and I have learned that from making our overseas iMovie motion pictures. The scene felt like we were practice. From running suicides to doing close-outs, it was the real deal. The only difference was that we were not allowed to get sweat on the fine threads. This task was very difficult for the simple reason that we were in an non air conditioned gym, with the doors open, in Texas... enough said. Overall it was a great experience, which gave me a taste of the film life. Now I have some experience under my belt, I will be prepared for when it's time to shoot some promo for my brand.

Check me out slacking on "D" and admiring the alley oop @ 0:12

UNASHAMED

I already know this is will be off the chain... Coming to a city near you.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it it the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." ROMANS 1:16-17

Welcome to Beckhamville 2010

Nothing can replace family, so I am grateful for every opportunity the Lord gives us to spend time together. Annual Family Reunions have been a tradition in the Beckham Clan since before I can remember. My father has been the head chairman for the past few years, and has been coming up with creative ways to celebrate our unity. This year, we hosted the reunion at Bill Bates Cowboy Ranch in Celina, Texas, where there was plenty of food, fun, and games for all. What an awesome family gathering, looking forward to next year!
